Roundtable with Crave Fishbar

July 16, 2025

Our July 2025 Roundtable was hosted by Brian Owens, Co-Founder of Crave Fishbar, at their Midtown East location. Abby Bonat led a Panel with Cole Riley of Rethink Food, our newest Social Impact Partner, and Brian Owens on sustainability. Topics of discussion included how sustainability can benefit restaurants and the mission and elements of sustainability. Brian and Cole shared some amazing insights, including:

  1. Taking the B Impact Assessment, a digital tool that can help measure, manage, and improve positive impact performance for the environment, communities, customers, suppliers, employees, and shareholders. It is important to see where your business stands on the sustainability scale, even if you do not plan to have your business become B Corp certified.
  2. The importance of hand-holding: restaurants don’t always know what they need to do regarding sustainability, and it can be beneficial for them to partner with a third party that understands it well.
  3. Your business needs to be profitable before it can be sustainable. Sustainability starts with the health of your business.
