Suzan Wines is an architect and founder of I-Beam Design, an award-winning woman-owned architecture and design firm based in New York City.
Throughout her career, Suzan has developed a body of work and research that reflects her belief that architecture is a fundamentally social art, designed to serve communities of all kinds. Her passion for designing cultural, commercial, hospitality and public spaces comes from a background in costume and set design. By appealing to all senses simultaneously – an environment can create a memorable experience that satisfies customers’ desire to be temporarily transported to another time and place – providing the ultimate in entertainment.
Suzan has been invited to lecture and participate in exhibitions around the world, and recently published Transient Spaces, a book about how cities are coping with mass migration. She has served as New York correspondent to Domus Magazine and taught at The Cooper Union, Pratt Institute, Parsons School of Design and is Adjunct Associate Professor at the Spitzer School of Architecture at The City College of New York
